Place diagnostics:
City of Canterbury Bankstown (NSW)

The challenge:
To articulate the unique strengths and local identity of the municipality's diverse local centres.

The outcome:
As part of a collaboration with Place Leaders Asia Pacific Neighbourhood Snaphot reports were generated to instantly visualise the 'local life' of key urban centres across the municipality. The data reports enabled the team to:

  • identify local activity hotspots across the centres, including popular parks and main streets.
  • understand where local community values compare and contrast across different neighbourhoods
  • find key local stakeholders and community activators
  • highlight local economic activity including home businesses

Highlighting the diversity of local place identity across the municipality, comparative data such as this will play a valuable role in informing economic development goals and underpinning future community engagement strategies.

Frasers Property (VIC, NSW, QLD)

The challenge:
With customers at the heart of their business model, the Frasers Property team were seeking to learn more about the community dynamics, strengths and opportunities for a selection of their residential projects.

The outcome:
Working with the Neighbourlytics team for over 12 months, Frasers Property has been receiving monthly Neighbourhood Snapshot reports to enable them to observe key community development dynamics such as:

  • existing strengths and assets of each local neighbourhood to be drawn upon and amplified through project activities
  • the local stakeholder context for each project

This monthly place-based data has enabled Frasers Property to track the evolution of communities across their projects, and to identify opportunities to strengthen community development initiatives.

Best practice benchmarks:
Capire Consulting (VIC)

The challenge:
To understand the role Melbourne's iconic fresh food markets play within the local community.

The outcome:
As part of the project inception and mobilisation, the Capire team selected a number of market locations across the city for comparison. The Neighbourhood Snapshot report bundle enabled the team to rapidly understand:

  • the demographic profile of each community
  • each neighbourhood's unique local assets and identity
  • the popularity and reputation of the market and its vendors
  • the level and type of activity generated by the market

This data was used as the foundation for detailed analysis to support the development of a robust community engagement strategy for the project.
